First Date
I went on my first first date in a really long time last night. On Tuesday, I made plans with the girl from Saturday night to go out for dinner. I picked her up last night around 7:00 and we made our way over to a local restaurant. The place was pretty crowded, but we totally lucked out and got a great table with a really good view. The atmosphere was great, the weather perfect and the food and service was good, too. The conversation went pretty well, although I found myself reaching once or twice to keep it going. After dinner, I was planning on just taking her back to her place and calling it a night. However, when we got there, she said that her roommate was around and that she didn't want to end the night yet. She suggested that we go somewhere else. I asked if she wanted to get coffee or a real drink and she opted for the latter.
So, we hit up a bar down the street and had another drink and talked for a bit. By this time it was getting late and I was pretty much done for the night. I drove her back to her place, walked her up to the door and proceeded to make out there for a while. She was kissing me all funny and it was kind of breaking up the moment for me so I bailed out after a few more minutes. Told her I would call her and we should get together again and then turned and left.
All in all, I would say that it was pretty good as first dates go. I'll probably give her a call in the next couple of days and set something up for next week.
