Just Call Me Cupid
Valentine's Day is one of those days that seem to make or break people. It's one of the three most important days of the year to a woman (Valentine's Day, their birthday, and New Year's Eve). It also gives guys ample opportunity to royally screw things up. On the flip side, single people seem to make Valentine's Day out to be the worst day of the year. Oh, how could they be alone on such an important day?! Guess what, people? Valentine's Day is merely a creation of the Hallmark Company to bridge the gap between Christmas and Easter. Yes, there was a saint Valentine, and yes the holiday is to recognize him, but the commercialization of the day is strictly for profits. If you are only inspired to be loving towards someone one day of the year, then you have a lot more to worry about than chocolate and flowers, my friend.
This year, I've decided to celebrate the holiday by hosting a singles party. I've invited an even gender split of approximately 15 people, each of whom are required to bring another single friend who's not on the guest list. Should make for a good time, and who knows, maybe someone will make a love connection.
