The Feeler Date
Whenever I'm meeting someone new, I always like to do a pre-date first. Meet up for drinks or coffee, feel the person out for an hour or so and, if they check out, make plans for a real first date in the near future. Of course, this plan of attack usually eliminates the opportunity for any sort of intimacy, but then again, these are people I'm looking to date, not just hookup with (I have a whole other plan of attack for that). In fact, I don't even try to make a move during these encounters; I always end the night with a hug and nothing more.
Had a great date with B.D. last night; we met up for drinks at a bar near her place. She's two years my younger, well traveled and educated, and works as a director in a high profile office. Looks wise, she's about 5'4", in great shape, has shoulder length, strawberry-blond hair. Admittedly, I can't give too detailed a description of her body because I was trying to scope things out without getting caught and my fleeting glances didn't add up to much (but, I did like what I remember). She did look well put together, though (a quality I appreciate).
The conversation was effort- and lull-less and I felt like we connected on a lot of things. We shared quite a few laughs and it was easy to tell that she was having as good a time as I was. I definitely plan on seeing her again and look forward to the opportunity.
