  My liver hates me

I guess I'm officially back on the market, although I'll be taking things extremely slow for the next few months. I talked to the ex a couple days ago. Turned into a one and a half hour marathon call, rehashing all the same things over and over about why the relationship fell apart, what was wrong with her, why does it always turn out this way, etc. But, the real kicker was that she was upset that I seemed to get over things so quickly. Well, duh. If I was feeling the same way she was, then I wouldn't have broken things off and we'd still be together. Don't get me wrong, I do miss her and it's weird not having her around, but I know that this is definitely for the best and that's what fuels me to push on.

So, like I said, I'm out there again. I've been out to one too many happy hours this week as evidenced by the fact that my body has no desire to go big this weekend. Last night was a lot of fun, though. I went out to meet some friends at a local brewery for happy hour. Coincidentally, the bar was hosting a bachelor/bachelorette auction for a charity. The place was packed with all kinds of good looking people (which is a little unusual for this locale). As the auction began to wind down, I began talking it up with a girl who was planning on auctioning herself off. I was helping her write up a little profile to hand the auctioneer when she went up on stage. In talking to her, I found out that the huge group of girls standing next to us were all with her. Perfect--I'd actually been eyeing one of the girls in the group all night. As the night progressed, I made my way through their group; chatting to each of the women until I finally got to speak to the girl I had singled out earlier. She actually turned out to be really cool and we were totally connecting. That is, until she brought up age. As soon as she found out I was 4 years younger than she was, she completely lost interest. Oh well. I spent the next half hour talking to a couple much less attractive girls before calling it a night.

Nothing lined up for the weekend just yet. I've got a friend or two coming into town, so I'm sure we'll be heading out.
