Online Ad Nauseam
I've started looking at some of the online dating sites and, I have to tell you, I don't even read the text anymore because they all say the same thing. From memory, I will construct a profile that matches 95% of what women put in their online ad:
Hi, I'm a sweet, out-going, down-to-earth [plus or minus a few other clichéd adjectives, but those three seem to be the most prevalent]
girl who's adventurous and loves the outdoors. I like to travel and see new things. I like to get all dressed up and go out, but I also like to sit at home on the couch and watch movies. I'm looking for a nice guy to share my life with, someone to enjoy walks on the beach and candlelight dinners with. Etc. etc.
And these people wonder why profiles with photos garner more responses; it's because it's the only thing that differentiates you, people!
