Status Update
Here's where things currently stand with me. Against my better judgment, I'm still hanging out with Giggles on a somewhat regular basis. However, I've slowed things down considerably and we're not spending nearly as much time together as we were before. The question of a relationship hasn't been brought up again so, for the time being, everything is status quo.
I'm starting to get the ol' dating itch again after meeting a few new girls in the last couple of weeks. More appropriately, I feel like starting the whole dating cycle over again: break up with current girl, be totally single for a while (i.e. no female involvement, whatsoever), start hooking up with chicks, start dating a couple girls, hang out with one girl for an extended period of time, call things off, rinse, wash, repeat.
Because I didn't learn my lesson last time, I've started to become friendly with another one of my neighbors. I'd just arrived home after running some errands and I saw her standing across the parking lot with another one of her friends. TheOtherNeighbor is an Asian girl, about 5'8" in heels and quite attractive. She's finishing up with school and, if I had to guess, I'd say she's about 22 or so (again, another lesson not learned). When I saw her, she and her roommates were getting ready to go out to dinner. She was wearing a tight, white, short-sleeved T-shirt that stopped just short of her belly button. A few inches of her nicely tanned midriff was exposed before being cutoff by a pair of tight, low-rise jeans. I greeted her with a friendly hello and after couple quick exchanges of idle chitchat, I turned to talk away; before I'd taken a step, she quickly stopped me to tell me about a little party they were having that night and asked if I would stop by. I told her I'd drop in for a beer.
True to my word, I stopped by her place later that evening. Evidently, TheOtherNeighbor also happens to be in a sorority, because when I showed up, the place was stocked to the gills with intoxicated sorority girls. There were very few guys present at the time, so I tried to take advantage of the situation. I guess I met about 4 or 5 girls that I found somewhat interesting before I decided to call it a night.
So, I guess I'm in a state of purgatory these days. Not quite in a relationship and not quite single. Things are going to have to change one way or the other, though, before they become too commonplace.
